Active Surveillance at UCLA

I attended a lecture last night on the active surveillance program at UCLA. Basically it involves advanced imaging and targeted biopsy to confirm that the cancer is small and non aggressive. There are 6 month follow ups.

Seemed like a very good approach to me.

While you are using UCLA for AS, consider a meeting with Jeffrey Demanes, Head of Brachytherapy. He is the pioneer of High Dose Rate brachytherapy. This can be a good treatment option should the AS not be permanent. More information at www.cetmc.com.
