Axiron Testosterone

Wow, I see from your signature you are a little over a year out  from your surgery. Things are certainly changing with giving prostate cancer survivors T. This used to be forbidden by all doctors, fearing the T will cause the cancer to reoccur. I too have low T, discovered after I had robotic surgery in 9/08. My level was in the 180-250 range. I was scared to take T at first, so I waited for 3 years of 0 psas before asking my internist about it. He said it was a dangerous thing to do and advised against it, even though a bone scan showed I have osteopenia (early osteoporosis). So I waited a little longer but my depression and brain fog kept getting worse and worse, so I asked my operating urologist about it and he said it was fine to do it. Still I waited, and then when I got a local uro I asked him and again he said it was ok. I tried the T shot at first but didn't like that, it made me achy all over and  my head hurt like I had a sinus infection so I quit that. Still worrying about taking T I went to the best endocrinologist in town who said it was a good idea to do it due to my bone loss. He said giving prostate cancer survivors T didn't cause the cancer to come back, only that it would make the cancer show up earlier if it was indolent in the body. So I felt it was worth the risk, so I've been on testim gel for 4 months now, psa hasn't changed yet. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give T a 3. My depression is a little less, my brain fog is definately less, I think more clearly now, and my libidio is certainly higher. My last T level was in the high 300's, so I do feel better and hope to continue with it. I have never heard of the form of T your taking, but I hope it gives you relief of your low T symptoms, whatever they are..........

There are several ads on tv for low T treatments, Axiron I think is the latest. If I remember correctly, it cleary says it should not be used by men with PCa or at high risk for PCa. Check this out very carefully. Go on their website and look at the side effects and indications of the treatment.

I just checked and the Axiron website clearly states it is not to be used by men who have had or may have PCA.   I would clearly question the doc on this.

Yup, all the T supplements clearly state not to be used by somebody who has or is suspected of having prostate cancer. So, if you have a 0 psa for like 3 years post surgery, do you have prostate cancer? My doctors say no, I don't know about others, good luck, I do feel better with T supplementation............
