I've been following deros 1969 in the veterans benefit network and
saw that he registered in this one so I decided to register..His sense of humor and positive attitude have helped lift me out of depression--he's a fighter..I did offer a silent prayer that he will
get a chance to get radiation..He lists himself as "friendly fire" victim #2 after reading my post about
friendly fire so I guess I'm #1..We are both viet vets.
Old man--age 70
Nov 2007--PSA 2.72 & dre--ok
Feb 2009--PSA 4.89--no dre--new dr--didn't inform me
July 2009--No dr--PA--PSA 4.7 no dre--monitor
Dec 2009--Urinary frequency--"old age"--no psa..no dr--pa again
July 2010--Emergency--extreme systems--4.86 PSA & hard prostate.
Aug 2010--Biopsy and diagnois--High Risk Gleason 8..
Sent for my records and went to my civilian radiation oncologist after getting my records..I was not aware of the earlier test results or the fact that I had PSA tests
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Stage--T3ANOMO with PN! and ECP..10 cores with 9 positive--left lobe--4+4 with focal areas of 5-- all 5 cores..right lobe--4 out of 5 with 4+3=7 gleason..both lobes 50-80%..DR is 6'4" with big hands--what a dre!--found the ecp..CT and bone scans negative.
Completed IMRT radiation in Feb 2011..Initial casodex to prevent "flareups when lupron was started..Off casodex and now lupron for 3 years..79.2 G's..radiation proctitis but the bleeding is mostly resolved..Using immodium and tamsulosin for bowel and urinary frequency...I never considered myself a "whoos" but the lupron really affects my emotions..I'm well satisfied with my dr and hospital and course of treatment...The other activity is well aware of my displeasure!!!!!! I hope I can be of benefit to members of this forum.

Welcome to the forum, sorry for the reason you are here, though. You've had a long, detailed and weary road, so stay with us a while, you're always welcome to sit back or jump in.

Thanks guys for your welcome...I worry about
deros since he's younger than me...Give him a hug and a prayer that he can get his psa down to .5 so he can get radiation...We can't send him vials of blood in the mail cause it is biohazzardeous (?) material-LOL. Stay positive and let's help each other..
