I have been posting random thoughts regarding Prostate Cancer Awareness month on my facebook page, about the benefits of early detection, etc, etc.

Yesterday at Rosh Hashana services, a casual acquaintence (a facebook "friend") came up to me, and thanked me for the reminder, and let me know that he made an appointment with his doctor for later this month to get tested for the first time.

Getting the word out helps.

I have the blue ribbon as my face book profile picture. I've been asked "what's the meaning of the blue ribbon"? So it's doing some good getting the word out about PCa awareness month. But, I doubt if it were a pink ribbon I not have been questioned at all. At least it's get's the guys to think and the wife's to start nagging, I mean persuading, to get checked.

good idea bert...I think I'll do the same. I bought a 10 pack of blue wristbands and got them from PCF.org yesterday as well. Trying to get my wife to give tham away at work.
