Scared after prostate surgury and radiation failure. Please help

I am in the same boat as you. I had surgery ,it failed in 9 months.. Then I had radiation, it failed in less than 9 months. The big difference, is as of April, my PSA had climbed to 37.

No, it doesn't mean the end is near. It means that some prostate cancer had escaped the prostate bed, perhaps even before you ever had surgery. It can also indicate a more aggressive strand of cancer.

You need to be seeing a good oncologist at this point, not an urologist. A good oncologist should be treating you from this point, in my opinion.

I am under the care of a good oncologist that specializes in advanced PC and advanced breast cancer. In my case, he does not want me to undergo further treatment at this time, he is not in favor of early HT use, despite my rise in PSA.

Based on recent scans, there is no evidence of metasasis to the bones, so he is keeping a good eye on things.

Good luck, I really think you need to find a good oncologist before making any decision at this point.

You might want to edit your post to fix the dates; you seem to be stuck in 2011.

I'll let other people who have more experience with PSA and radiation answer your questions in more detail but I'm pretty sure the answer to question 1) is no.

A few other pieces of information that might help us understand your status are your age and your pre-surgical PSA history. Also, you have one date for the radiation -- is that when it started or when it ended?
