My situation was similar to yours (without the androjel) but with a sudden rapid PSA rise.

Unfortunately there is a lot of controversy about this among the experts. One very respected PC doc Catalano has published several papers saying that a high psa velocity greatly increases the chances of having an aggressive and dangerous cancer. Others dispute this. I myself would be inclined to go talk to a urologist promptly. The uro might recommend a biopsy right away. A more conservative uro might do some other tests like a free PSA test or PCA3 test. He would likely want to restest the PSA at fairly close interval like another 1-2 months. If he thought there was a possibility of prostatitis (a bacterial infection) he would prescribe you antibiotics and have you retest in 2-4 weeks.

Also, if you did any thing that might lead to a false PSA result you can retest. This includes sex within a day or two the test, riding a bicycle, having had the DRE BEFORE the blood was drawn, or anything else that might put direct pressure on the prostate itself. All these can lead to an unnaturally high PSA. If you did any of these you can retest your psa in a couple days and see if this is just a false alarm.

If not a false alarm, I would, as a minimum monitor the situation extremely closely.
