Does anyone know where there is a liosting of the different types of radiation therapy offered at Veterans' Administration hospitals? I am in the Southeast and am considering radiation for my T1c, Gleason 3+4 cancer.
Thanks
David

the availability of CK for VA patients :

Good luck on your journey.

David:
I checked the Accuray website ( manufacturer of the CyberKnife machine) and there are several CyberKnife Centers in the Tampa area. I bet if you give them a call, they can answer about
the possibility of them being able to treat VA patients. Good luck on your journey.

DD,
I am in the same area, check Dr John Steel in Tampa. Not sure if all insurance is accepted. I am scheduled to begin treatment based on a recommendation of a neighbor who just went through it.

Thanks!!! That is the doctor I want to see. I am interested in either brachytherapy or CyberKnife. Haven't decided which one. I am trying to find out if the VA will send me over there.
I checked with TampaBay Radiation Oncology and the young lady was very nice (as opposed to the not-so-nice lady at Moffitt) and said they do work with patients the VA sends them. I have an appointment in January at the VA and will discuss it with my doc.
Thanks again and have a great holiday.
David
