Update on Marshall's Zytiga

Marshall started the Zytiga-Prednisone on Tuesday, March 12. He had pain that day and a lot of up and down emotions.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the pain seemed to decrease a TINY amount each day but he needed to still take his oxycodone/advil mixture. On Saturday, he was feeling better, only took pain pills once.

Sunday, he woke up without pain and was pain free all day. Went out and puttered in the garage a little bit (unbelievable!).

Monday, he woke up again without pain and was pain free all day long.

And today is another pain free day. His mood has improved and his energy level has improved a bit. Still has hot flashes.

I hope this is the kind of report I continue to post.

On Zytiga, Marshall has now had 15 days of no pain and a higher energy level than he's had in months. He is having worse hot flashes than he had with just the lupron but so far no other side effects.

Just trying to keep everyone up to date on our experience with Zytiga!

Mine had practically no se except the hot flashes were worse. Hoping it is effective and continues to be minimal side-effects.

Another update regarding Marshall's experience with Zytiga so far. Yesterday he had his second 2-week checkup and all of the lab work was okay. But the good news of the day was that his PSA is now down to 10.23 (down from 31.06. What great news!

He is still pain free and feeling good. His only real side effects so far are extreme hot flashes and fatigue. But even though he suffers from fatigue, his energy level is better than it's been in many months. We hope this Zytiga keeps doing what it's doing!

That is good news indeed! That's a good decrease in a month!
Are you going to have a CTscan done in a couple of months?
We still don't know what the zytiga is doing for my husband. We will know this month!

I can't remember when they said they would do scans -- but we should find out at our next visit on April 22nd.  We are kind of giddy right now.  I hope it keeps up and I sure hope the Zytiga has the same effect on your husband.
