Drinking a beer tonight and there's plenty more in the cooler for y'all!

Got a phone call from my surgeon tonight, telling me what my pathology report was.
I had huge breath of relief!

Gleason score unchanged - G7 3+4
All margins clear
Lymph nodes clear
Seminal vesicles clear
10% cancer in prostate

Will go over full report on April 8th and I'll also find out what he thinks will be my, if any, future treatments are.

Have drink everyone on me, I'm happy happy!

Congratulations on the results! Recovery should be pretty quick. We are about the same age when we had surgery, and I was skiing 5 weeks after surgery. I know you had worries about doing the GFMPH cruise so soon after surgery, but you will be more than fine if you decide to go. I'll buy you the first beer, or, if you want, one of those fancy foo-foo drinks in the glass that you get to bring home!

Sparky, I breathed a sigh of relief for you...congratulations. It's a great pathology report.

Spark... that is a great report. I know that with a similar report my surgeon said "what future treatments?".

Right now you shouldn't think of future treatments. I'm not doctor but I don't think that is a concern of your surgeon either right now given that report.

There are chances it might come back for us, but there ar eprobably better chances that it won't.

Resident of Highland, Indiana just outside of Chicago, IL.
July 2011 local PSA lab reading 6.41 (from 4.1 in 2009). Mayo Clinic PSA Sept. 2011 was 5.7.
Local urologist DRE revealed significant BPH, but no lumps.
PCa Dx Aug. 2011 at age of 61.
Biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma in 3 of 20 cores (one 5%, two 20%). T2C.
Gleason score 3+3=6.
CT of abdomen, bone scan both negative.
DaVinci prostatectomy 11/1/11 at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), nerve sparing, age 62.
My surgeon was Dr. Matthew Tollefson, who I highly recommend.
Final pathology shows tumor confined to prostate.
5 lymph nodes, seminal vesicles, extraprostatic soft tissue all negative.
1.0 x 0.6 x 0.6 cm mass involving right posterior inferior,
right posterior apex & left mid posterior prostate.
Right posterior apex margin involved by tumor over a 0.2 cm length, doctor says this is insignificant.
Prostate 98.3 grams, tumor 2 grams. Prostate size 5.0 x 4.7 x 4.5 cm.
Catheter out in 7 days. No incontinence, occasional minor dripping.
Post-op exams 2/13/12, 9/10/12, PSA <0.1.
Semi-firm erections now happening 14 months post-op & slowly getting a bit stronger.
