The Legacy: UPDATE

Hello All-

Thank You all for the sage advise in my last posting.

I met with the Oncologists yesterday and we discussed 3 treatment options:

BT

EBRT

and they also felt that I was an excellent candidate for Cyber Knife- based on my age , numbers and that I

am in excellent health otherwise ( kind of an oxy moron?)

These MD's do not perform that procedure, I would have to go to Georgetown Hospital if I choose that

route. So alot to consider.

I am still going to Hopkins in June for a 2nd round of tests/opinions before I make any decision.

I did SBRT/CyberKnife. Five quick treatments and I was done. No lasting SEs other than little ejaculate at orgasm, which I miss. I don't know what your biopsy showed, but I assume you have good reason to rule out Active Surveillance.

The five year results of 1,100 men at 8 centers were presented at the last ASTRO meeting, and ASTRO recently endorsed it. Dr. Alan Katz just published his six-year results detailing great cure rates and a remarkably low level of SEs. You can read it at this link:
