Hi David and Tony, and everyone, in the 6years I have been here, I have had all the support and help that I ever needed with my Pca. don't argue guys, we are on the same path, no need for more stress, eh? I have over time recieved some nasty words, I chuck them in the bin and don't respond, that way the pot stops boiling.

On a happier note, we have booked a trip to Canada and Alaska in July 2014 and looking forward to seeing a part of the world we have not been to.

Wishing you all peace and contenment, and a special "hello" to my friend David.

Mal, my friend, I can always count on a kind word from you. Excited about your trip to Alaska and Canada next year. You going to British Columbia, or some of the other provinces in Canada?

I was in Alaska back in 1971 in January, the key word: Cold. Windy. More cold.

Hi David, we are going on a 11 day tour from Vancouver, incorperating the Rocky Mountaneer train, Jasper, Banff etc. then a 7 day criuse on the Inside Passage, 2 days Hong kong there and back. all part of our 50th Wedding Anniversay, which was last month.

We were going next month, but had to cancel as Anna's brother is gravley ill.

Only been here a couple years and don't post much as others but overall I'd say this is a well run site. Every site will have some issues and overall I see good stuff far outweighing the ugly stuff....just my opinion.

Hate to see good people leave over it though.....like its been said many times here before....live and let live and ignore what you dislike. Personnally Im a member on 4 total forums and this is by far the most civil one.

Mal, congratulations on your 50th, that is quite the accomplishment. You got 11 years on us, I am doubting that PC will let me ever see my 50th, but will take what I am given. Vancouver and all of British Columbia is worth seeing alone. My mother did the Inland Cruise thing on her 80th birthday, alone, six years ago. Was a bit too cold for her.

What is ailing Anna's brother, if I may ask?

Gram80, I'm surprised this thread was the one that enticed you off the sidelines, but it's great that you decided to post and express your appreciation of the site.

I think we underestimate how many are being helped without hearing a peep from them, and that is truly OK. I bet there are others on the sidelines that would appreciate hearing your story, but only if / when you are comfortable doing so. Welcome!

Mal, that saddens me to hear of this. Stage 4 stomach cancer is pretty serious, I hope there is still reason to have hope. You have my thoughts and prayers for him and your family.

Thanks David, don't think he will last out the year, chemo is knocking him around, sometimes wonder if it's worth it?

Mal,

That is always the concern. Is it worth trying to extend one's life at all costs, even if its certain to be a futile attempt. In that situation, one's remaining time might be more enjoyable without the chemo. a tough and very personal call to make.
