I've not had HT but there have been a few times when I've had a 'hot flash' like event in the last couple of months. Makes wonder sometimes what the radiation did to me.

On Avodart, casodex and trelstar, 5 months now. Never had hot flashes, I've been on an estrogen patch since the start, so maybe that's why.
If you are suffering with hot flashes and are not on "the patch" you may want to talk to your doctor.

Personally , I'd prefer that to breast pain, sensitivity and growth. Wasn't expected with a 6 month course of hormone treatment, I hope they shrink back, sprouting painful little brestisus, who woudda thought, the indignity of catheters and butt probes not enough

This is just a quick update to my prior post on this thread -

Now seven weeks into the Lupron experience, I have full-on hot flashes. Also an engineer, I had to log them to see the pattern but it turns out to be pretty simple. They happen just about every half hour like clockwork. Plus or minus 5 minutes or so, but almost exactly every 30 minutes... all day long. They wake me a couple of times a night, too. So far, fortunately none of the night ones have been bed-soakers.

I get warm starting in my chest and spreading covering up to my head and down to my knees, resulting in light perspiration. They last just about 4 minutes every time, and seem to be about the same intensity. Once in a while one is lighter, and barely noticeable.

To Devastated 1 .....

Have been on Lupron now for about 18-months with next injection due next month. On the initial injection, I had very noticeable hot flashes but just for the first week-end ... then nothing noticeable ... but was taking Zytiga also at that time.

On subsequent injections, the hot flash week-end did not happen ... but for much of that time, I was on Taxotere chemo injetions. The chemo injections stopped 8-weeks ago ... and recently I am noticing I will sort of wake-up thru the evening and flip off the cover that was over me - at least for awhile. Sometimes, the overall feeling of being a bit too hot happens while laying down in front of the tv also - and not necessarily while sleeping. The recent feeling of getting hot is more like - wondering if the ac is still working ... so it's much less severe than the first or original hot flashes.

Hope your flashes are brief and minimal ... we don't need more to deal with, do we?
