I started with bimix and have been using it for a few days. Here's my experience and a few questions.
Doc prescribed the "standard" bimix concentration of 30mg papaverine/1mg phentolamine. First injection was 0.06ml in the doc's office. First injection at home was 0.10ml with mediocre results. Two nights ago I tried 0.15ml, and got no response at all, which I attribute to incorrectly placed injection. Last night, I tried 0.15ml again, which achieved a decent result which was just firm enough for penetration. (Welcome back to life, willy!!!) Tonight I'll move up to 0.20ml. I'm using 1cc syringe with a 28ga 1/2" needle.
A few questions:
1)
What is the best way to maximize my result?
Right now, I inject and then put pressure on the injection site for a few minutes per doc's orders. Is there anything else that would be beneficial, like massaging the penis so the medication get distributed evenly, etc?
2) Last night, I injected on the right side. The erection had a mild but noticeable curve to the left, which disappeared when the erection softened. It seemed (but could just be my imagination) that the erection was bulkier on the right side, which caused the leftward curve.
Anyone experienced this?
(I've only injected a few times, so I highly doubt that this is related to Peyronie’s disease.)
3) At one point during intimacy with my wife last night, things got particularly "exciting". At that moment, willy jumped from the bimix-induced 7/10 hardness, to a full 10/10 hardness for a few moments.
Could that be an indication that my brain+nerves are beginning to exert some control over willy again?
Thanks,
Gedman

A few clueless answers:
1) Pressure on the injection site helps prevent scarification. After that what you do with it is up to you. I think the official medical answer is that the medicine tends to get where it needs to be all by itself. But whatever floats your boat. Just remember that the effect of the shot doesn't last forever and the meter's running.
2) I'd do more research to see if it curves the other way when you inject on the other side. Anything for science!
3) Could be but not necessarily. The general firmness of an erection is caused by blood trapped in the penis so that the erectile chambers are inflated by your full blood pressure. In a natural erection nerve endings secrete nitric oxide that relaxes smooth muscles in the blood vessels inside your erectile chambers allowing them to expand. With your bimix the drugs take the place of the nitric oxide to give you an erection. But, for a few minutes during sex, generally right before you climax, muscles in the base of the penis contract and increase the intra-cavernous pressure
well above
your blood pressure. This only works for a minute or two (no more blood can get in and some will gradually leak out) but for a few minutes your afterburner can kick in. This uses a different set of nerves than the ones that stimulate the release of nitric oxide.

The injections are a large part of the solution. Stimulation is the remaining part. Thus - getting in "the mood" before and after the injection will help.

A few answers based on our experience:
1. No instructions were given beyond putting pressure on the injection site for a few minutes.
2. My husband developed very mild curvature about
a month into injections. It came on suddenly. The firmer he was the more noticible it was. Although the curvature appeared to be connected to the injections, Dr. Mulhall said that it wasn't. He believes that injections do not cause peyronies. My husband treated his curvature with a penile extender, per Mulhall's instructions, and the curvature is now gone.
3. My husband noticed the same thing. We are not using Trimix for intimacy much because Trimix causes some discomfort and my husband does not want to switch to bimix at this point. When we do use Trimix for intimacy a 7/10 turns into a 10/10 and stays that way after our intimate time.

Thanks guys. I will probably try 0.20ml tonight and see how it goes.

On further review I have decided that I gave the wrong answer to question three. It's not
wrong
in the sense of being untrue, it is merely the wrong answer in the sense that of the several explanations for what you reported I responded with the most
interesting
answer when I should have paid more attention to the most
likely
one.
The most likely answer to the question is that yes, you are right; it means that your nerves are recovering and the improvements you see in your erections during sex (as opposed to your reaction to the bimix in a less stimulating setting) are a result of synergy between the drugs in the bimix and nitric oxide release by nerve endings stimulated by your recovering nerves.

Gedman: A few things: First, you are using a pretty low dose and getting good results. So that is indeed promising. Your blood supply seems adequate so there is most likely no permanent vein damage there. The fact that you felt that "willy jumped" is in my opinion an exellect indicator that you will most like resolve your ED after time. My advice is go up slowly. In my case 0.20 was fine and if I went to .22, I was on my way to the ER. Keep a supply of Sudafed on hand as an antidote in the event that you get the dreaded 4 hour erection. Try 0.18 tonight, not 0.20. There is quite a bit of variabiltiy in the exact
location of the injection and what may seem to be the identical spot may result in totally different hardness results. I too had slight curvature but it turned out to be nothing. I used Bimix for 6 months (once per week). I found that it became less and less effective as time went on, as my body healed and my ED naturally resolved. I figured that the return of natural blood may have been flushing out the Bimaix (just my theory). My Dr. recommended a finer needle (31 ga.) and my needle length was slightly shorter at 5/16 inch. I was woorried about
scar tissue so I used Bimix only once per week. I don't know if it is a good idea to use Bimix twice in two days, but again ask your Dr. The best factors in your favor are your age and that you had a very good surgeon. I was 59 at the time and it took me well over a year to not need the BiMix. Today at 23 months (to the day from the day of surgery) I can get natural and even mental erections at will. Another indicator may be whether you get nocturnal erections during REM sleep. From what I understand, that is also a good indicator that you ED will resolve itself. It is usually a longer journey than our doctors lead us to believe or what we want to believe. But, relax and let nature take its course.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies, guys.
I tried 0.20ml on Monday night. I injected on the left side, and didn't have any curve at all. I got 8 out of 10 hardness for 30 or 40 minutes. Next step (per the doc's guidance) is 0.25ml.
I have a bottle of Sudafed handy in case I have a prolonged erection.

Last night I used 0.25ml of bimix. 9+ out of 10 on the hardness scale, which lasted roughly 45 minutes at full hardness and then slowly deflated from there. Couldn't be happier. Gedwoman concurs

That's great news to hear gedman!
I was going to talk to my doc about
injections this past Monday, but I didn't. :-\

Yeah, after the bimix, I feel like I'm 41 all over again! (Hey, wait a second... I
am
41!)
Sparky: The injections aren't as scary as they sound. The first one in the doc's office was a bit surreal, and the first one or two that I did myself at home made me a bit nervous. After that... no sweat.
All:
Doc's office told me today that I shouldn't inject two days consecutively. But, the person who told me that isn't the usual ED/injection expert. (He's on vacation for the next 2 weeks). Have other folks gotten similar guidance?

I am on trimix but I expect it is more or less the same. I've been told not to inject two days in a row or to inject within 24 hours (either way) of using a PDE5i drug (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, etc., etc.).

Per Dr. Mulhall:
You must wait at least 24 hours between injections. Do not inject more than 3 times a week. Do not inject within 18 hours of taking Viagra (he has his patients use Viagra).
