how do I find a doctor for post radiation treatment

My urologist's office said to be careful about the timing on the Lupron injection, but not for medical reasons. Insurance apparently won't pay for the injection if it is one day short of 6 months. I'm going a couple of days past 6 months just to be sure.

The literature sheets for Lupron, which you can find online, show on average a small uptick in testosterone at the time for re-injection. It looked quite minor, still well below castrate level, and people seem to take months to recover from Lupron anyway, so a couple days don't seem like they'd matter.

I have been on both Eligard and Lupron and they are basically the same. I started on Eligard because at that time Lupron wasn't available in six month doses. Once Lupron was available in six month doses, my doc switched to Lupron. I can't tell the diference other than the shot site, Eligard in the belly and Lupron in the butt.

They both come in one month shots, but why would you want that? Take the six month shot rather than the pain and trouble of six shots in the same time frame. Timing is important, but Medicare and insurance won't reimburse if you are early on a shot. Mine is always a few days after the six month mark from the most recent.

As to why you didn't get radiation locally, there isn't a Proton center locally!! Any rad onc with a problem isn't worth going to. Call the docs at Loma Linda and get a referral. Also look into getting a medical oncologist for the HT treatment. They then will have a rad onc to refer you to.
