What is the romance with the zero PSA club?

I don't think the zero club is any kind of romantic idea.
But surely the aim is to get us to a point where we have Stable "undetectable" PSA, and thus when you get there it is something to celebrate in a simple way and the notion of the "zero club" is how HW guys have done it. It's a pretty good way of indicating that you are in remission especially as with most other cancers there is nothing quite the same as a PSA level that can be monitored to indicate how you are doing.
However....
I'm a zero club guy and have been since my SRT, but I still get PSA anxiety prior to testing each time.

The anxiety does have some grounds to exist too. I've spoken to my uro and RT doc about what my PSA might do in the future and they have said they they have no idea. While there are stats to describe a non-existant Mr Average the reality is that there is no way of telling if a succession of good PSA numbers indicates that you are going to have good PSA numbers in the future. I might be going to get a bad PSA next time or in five years or never.
So until such time as things do or do not go wrong I will glady feel good about being in the Zero Club.

Great great post. You raise a very valid point. I am technically a member of the zero club, but only due to the HT impact. My PC is for sure not curable.

But, even before this, I used to feel uncomfortable about that subset of our Forum. However, I've now gotten used to it, and frankly I now accept and appreciate the act of celebrating success against the PC SOB,

But your comment represents a true and honest emotion. I think the responses while genuine are probably a bit unfair as I have to figure many of us incurable folks have had some pangs of awkwardness (jealousy?) regarding the Zero Club.

Incidentally, I am "pleased" to see a G9 Club here, too. Actually, very sad to see we need one but pleased to see a place where a different subset of members can discuss their unique problems.

Again, PSA, I commend you for starting such an honest, heartfelt thread!
