Breaking my HW fast, to answer your question. It's important for you to know, there is no normal, regular, or expected. 100% different from man to man. There are those that have nerve-sparing, and still having serious ED 2 years later, and those that didn't, that recover fast.
My case is very unique. I had non-nerve sparing open surgery. The left bundle was cut wide and out, the right side, due to an anatomy issue and surgical difficulties, was left "damaged but intact". I was told to expect full and total ED by my surgeon.
Due to the difficulties, I had my original catheter in for 63 days. During that time, I began to have full errections on my own, and twice, I got brave, and had orgasms on 2 occasions (would never recommend anyone try that).
To this day, I have never experienced ED, not even a single occurrence, and that's with one nerve bundle gone and the other damaged. Later, I underwent salvage radiation, which for me was a complete disaster, yet despite that, never had or have had and ED post radiation. So I am over 5 year post surgery and radiation, and still have never experienced any signs of ED.
Other than getting use to dry orgasms, my sex life is as good, if not better, than my pre-PC days. Yes, its a rare exception, and my surgeon equated it to almost being a miracle, and was too humble to take claim for my good fortune.
It's going to take a change of attitude in your situation (I mean inside your head, not outward), and a lot of patience. You may heal well in regards to ED, or your may not. Don't' get discouraged, this is the ultimate gamble men face, when they choose surgery for their primary treatment. Despite having a great surgeon, or having nerve sparing ops, there is no certainty on how things will turn out.
Good luck, now I will go back into seclusion.
