Whirlpool after prostatectomy (when) good-bad?

I had a radical prostatectomy on 1-6-2014, does anyone have any thoughts on going to the gym and sitting in the whirlpool? I was just thinking maybe sitting in the whirlpool near the jets might help the healing inside, I guess im just concerned with the cuts on my stomach and maybe allowing my insides to get hot might not be a good idea. Going nuts just siting around!!!!!!!

It was at least two months before my incisions were closed (no more weeping of fluid, scabs gone) and all the bits of suture were gone. I was told to stay out of any still water (bathtub, spa) until both of those conditions were satisfied. But I was still in full depends and pads, so could not have gone into a spa without getting sucked under anyway.

I wouldn't do that for at least a month - two is better - after surgery. You want all the incisions to close tight before doing something like that.

The best thing you can be doing right now is just simple walking. Build you're self back gradually and before you know it you'll be back to your regular routine and this will all just be a bad memory.

John, I know what you mean, I had my surgery done in the month of sept. so the weather was just right for lots of walking. Wife and I would just walk around the neighborhood or walk to the store each day just to buy some thing light to carry back.

Or you can watch LAW&ORDER reruns its on all the time ;)
