I just received some PR from the local cancer agency looking for donations to help them with research. In their pitch for funds, there was some interesting info. I will quote it verbatim.
"Dr. Marianne Sadar was swept my emotion when she realized a new experimental approach might save lives of men with advanced prostate cancer. Her eureka moment led to testing and within months, the drug she developed was actually shrinking tumors in the lab. (Blah, blah, blah a bunch more spiel here)
Her team provided proof-of-principle that the drug, EP1-001, works on the most advanced form of prostate cancer by targeting therapy-resistant cancer cells. The drug is now ready to move forward into clinical trials"
Fingers crossed.
