I had brachytheray procedure Oct 2012. I had a gleason score of 7(4+3) and had external radiation 25 days and 54 seeds implanted. After the implants I endured a lot of radiation pain for 7 months. Doctors kept insisting "things will get better after radiations wears off". Then suddenly the pain stopped for 6-8 weeks and PSA dropped to .1 and cancer was gone. Finally life was good and future looked bright. At 8 weeks I started to have very bad urine odor and within 2-3 weeks severe prostititus set in and has not improved for 7 months now. During that 7 months my doctors have tried a dozen medicines and turp, tests, etc. Nothing has worked. I am taking pain medicines for pain every day to to try to maintain a few hours of normal daily life. I found at least 2 of the seeds come out when urinating. I also developed kidney stones and passed several small ones. I am not sure if these symptoms are related. Any one out there have any advise or had a similar problem and found a cure for ongoing brachytherapy pain or radiation burns?
Thanks
Buck.

I seem to recall some guys getting help from Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Did a bit of Googling. Sounds potentially helpful...
I suspect there are other articles that are more recent or more complete but here are a few abstracts I found:
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for radiation induced proctopathy in men treated for prostate cancer
Hyperbaric oxygen treatment of chronic refractory radiation proctitis: a randomized and controlled double-blind crossover trial with long-term follow-up.

Sounds like the radiation doctor may have dropped some seeds in your bladder. Did they do a cystoscopy after the seeds were implanted to avoid leaving seeds in the bladder?

I am coming up on the four year mark after having Brachytherapy.
about
a year ago I started having just a little bit of blood in my stool. So, a few months ago submitted to a flexiblesig and it was determined that I am "blessed"" with a little radiation proctitus. I did watch the procedure on the scope and could plainly see a bunch of very tiny blood vessels that looked like extremely small threads of NEW vessels replacing the ones damaged by radiation. I have been taking the Rx Polyethylene Glycol on a daily basis which adds a good amount of water to the colon to make pooping very easy. This stuff is the same stuff that we ingest to go through a colonoscopy but in small daily amounts (17 grams). As far as Brachytherapy goes, I would certainly choose that procedure if I had to make the choice again.
