Steady rise of PSA after RRP

Looking for some more advice please.
After my RRP in London October 2013, my PSA did not return to 0, although very low. It has risen steadily (see my signature for details). I had a Choline PET scan yesterday, and will review the results with my oncologist on Friday. The oncologist said when we last spoke that he did not expect the PET scan to locate anything, but even so, would recommend hormone therapy for 2 years, and radiotherapy after being on the hormones for 3 months - from what I read hear and fairly standard regime.

So I am definitely inclined to go with the treatment, had thought I would hold off if my PSA had stabilized. Is there any reason that I have not thought of to delay action?

I'm not sure why they would do a scan with such a low PSA.

It does look like you need follow-up treatment.

Salvage Radiation Therapy is often the choice. If that fails, then HT.

But obviously we are not doctors and I know they are starting more and more to combine HT with radiation.

Hi Alan,

I'm sorry that the surgery didn't get it all. Unfortunately, you can only wait so long before the cancer grows and spreads. Treating it earlier is your best hope. Results of salvage RT are best before your PSA reaches .2. After that, your chances of recurrence goes up by 2.6% for every .1 increase in PSA.
