I bought a Vacurect. They make a prescript
ion model and a consumer model. The machine is exactly the same in both cases. The prescript
ion device ($500) comes with a lot more stuff -- more rings, bigger tubes of lube, a few maintenance parts, a nicer case -- and the ($195) consumer model merely comes with everything you need. My insurance would have "covered" the $500 device but it would have been "out of network" and a $500 deductible would apply. If I has been expecting to have other "out of network" expenses that calendar year that would have been OK but since all of my doctors, my surgery, my radiation, etc., etc. were
all "in network" the result would have been that I was out of pocket for the full $500. I am happy with what I bought.
The Vacurect is different in two respects. The most important difference is that the rings work differently. With other VEDs you stretch the rings around the tube and then *!SNAP!* them around Mr Happy when you get him where he needs to be. With the Vacurect you use the vacuum to pull him through the ring and pump with the ring in place. It avoids that "snap" which lots of guys don't like. The other difference is that the pumping action uses a sliding cylinder around the outside of the tube -- a motion that the manufacturer says men will find "more natural", if you take my meaning.
