Have you asked if botox would be a good solution to the bladder spasms? They inject into the detrusor muscle and let me tell you its like a miracle relief wise but eventually fades and has to be repeated periodically. I think this may be more common in women to get it done, but it can be done in office via cysto and is covered by insurance.
Might be worth mentioning to your doc and advocating to try it. The difference in comfort and quality of life is incredible.
I was born with malformed urinary tract and bladder, so it doesn't function well and nerves leading to it are also whack so neurogenic bladder as well thanks to spina bifida occulta. I have leakage and varying types of incontinence- stress, urge, etc. (have all my life) but the botox also took that away completely which was a pleasant surprise. The doc warned me I may have to cath if it goes awry for a few months (with my bladder issues) but only had to for a few days just to make sure I was emptying properly.
I will do it again, just once more settled and can actually have some MD appointments for myself instead of hubby.
Best thing? I could jump on a trampoline and run!
