I had a radical prostatectomy July 24th 2013.I had been using up to 4 pads a day and suffered severe incontinence when bicycling and hiking.
12 days ago I had the advance male bladder sling installed by Dr Brian ChristIne at the urology centers of Alabama in Birmingham.
I went Home the day of surgery and rested with a catheter in place for two days.My wife and I were instructed on how to remove the catheter which we did as I live out of town some 270 miles.
After the catheter was removed I had no leakage. 12 days later I still have no leakage and I'm pleased with the results. I will see the doctor August 8th for a checkup. With respect to pain, ..the real pain in my experience was due to a bad back and hip I have. I assume the position one is placed in for this procedure compounded that.
My only concern is my urine stream which is weak, however I was told that would improve and I am seeing that now.
