Why was your PSA checked at age 42? Do you have a family history of Prostate Cancer or were you experiencing any urinary issues? Just curious.
Last year, at age 41, I had PSA of 9 - it was cancer, and I had it treated and am doing fine. (Lots of details in links below, if you are interested.)
One thing that I learned is how unbelievably rare it is for a guy our age to actually be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. According to
this page on cancer.gov, only 0.6% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer are in the 35-44 age range. In other words, I'd read that statistic as: There is a 99.4% chance that you do
not have Prostate Cancer.
