For any of the guys who have had surgery and are worried about
return of sexual function, there is hope. My boyfriend (67 now) had surgery back in December 2012 with Dr. Samadi in NYC. 25% Gleason 7, contained to the prostate. Dr. Samadi said it was difficult coming out, but he did manage to spare his nerves. He said keep at the rehab, it will come back. He was very sure of it. We weren't so sure, especially after a year, but we kept at the rehab, knowing it could take more than 2 years. For rehab, we subscribed to the use it or loose it method. Nothing crazy, except for using Trimix with a lot of trial and error and one trip to the hospital ER. We are at the point now where Viagra is sufficient alone. Prior to this whole thing, he never had any ED issues, so post surgery we were hopeful. Long story short, don't give up. Keep at it. We live a healthy lifestyle, exercise 5-6 days a week and maintain a healthy weight. Dr. Samadi feels a healthy lifestyle + the rehab would give us the best shot at getting back to normal and we're 90% there. Just some words of wisdom for the surgery guys.

Good advice -- never give up hope.
Glad your recovery is going so well.

Fantastic news. Congrats.
I'm having similar recovery at 17 months.
I totally agree about
persisting with rehab.

Nice to know that a lady with a 67 year old boyfriend is still interested in sex. Wives of most guys that age gave it up long ago.
