whats the psa drop off point?

at a friends house he told me that at the dr s office they told him that they consider, any levels from 0.2psa to be cured as long as it does not rise, not is that without treatment, or can you be on Lupron shots, and still have the 0.2psa or is it 0.02? my last zoladex shot was aprill 29/14 psa was 0.02 now at 6 mos later it rose to 0.2 psa have appmt with oncology dr on oct /28/14,, do you think he will put me back on the shots, going for blood work this wk, and Im sure its rose again?? Im felling the best in 3 yrs; age 67 now when caught 62 12psa R.P. 3mos later,psa droped to 0.2 then rose to psa 0.4 9mos later, started imbt savage radation for 9 wks droped psa back down to 0.1 then lasted around 9mos then rose again to 0.5 psa started zoladex inplants for 24 mos psa droped down to 0.02 been off for last 6 mos kenny

The Urological Association uses .20 PSA as the breakpoint for men who have had the prostate removed. The trace PSA is because surgery can not remove absolutely 100% of the prostate tissue. Basically, If you stay at .20 or lower for 10 years they consider you cured.

The Radiology Association uses a slightly different measure owing to the fact that after radiation you technically have a prostate, though it has largely been ablated. A large Prostate Radiology Group here in Atlanta has for nearly 30 years used the Urological definition so they can directly compare their results with surgical results.
