I asked my urologist if he minded if I brought music and headphones to the biopsy because I have read about
several studies that say music keeps the patient calmer and lowers the blood pressure.
His email to me:
Feel free to bring your headset. I have had multiple patients listen to music during their biopsy.
I really like this guy!

Well I guess if it makes it better for you, then it is better for him too. Sounds like good "bedside manner" which usually promotes confidence.
While I couldn't take my own music to my 37 RT sessions, they did have piped music in the treatment room, but it was a bit hit and miss as to whether they bothered with it or not.
Didn't really worry me. I amused myself by trying to get an exact second countdown to match the "Beam On" periods. Got pretty good at it by the end.

I listened to Springsteen during my SBRT sessions. All I heard during the biopsy and "snap"! LOL

What a great idea - wish I would have thought of that for my procedure. I am sure my doc would have gone along with that for the biopsy.
For my IGRT sessions they had an internet radio set up in the treatment room (couldn't take in my own electronics) and they'd set it to whatever channel I wanted. By the third day, my station selection was in my chart and set up before they got me on the table.

I had no need for headphones because my uro used to sing "Stranger's in The Night" when giving biopsies. It was funny the first couple of times.

I'm thinking "Bottoms Up" by Brantley Gilbert would be a good choice.

Good Times, Bad Times by Led Zeppelin!
That would keep your mind off what is happening below.
Beats hearing the biopsy gun go off 12 times.

I like 90's music, so I vote for either of these two grunge band songs:
Alice in Chains --> 'Down in a hole'
Nirvana --> 'Rape Me'
;)

A little caution - you may find you've associated your music choice with an unpleasant memory. Could be a double-edged sword.
My RT session techs had simple organic ambient music on during most of the sessions. Non-melodic smoothly changing chords; very relaxing. Of course, when that linac powers up the buzz kind of overpowers the music.
