After a biopsy, blood in semen can last for up to 6 weeks or so, although after the first week to 10 days, it generally turns brown, and then starts to get lighter.
But your biopsy was probably not the same as a typical TRUS biopsy that looks for Prostate cancer, so you should probably speak with your dr about it.

Yeah, seeing the blood come out is really wild.

zen - I tend to agree, my first two samples hurt like heck then it was not too bad after that. However, the first two samples conditioned me to freeze up after each click. That stuff has to be more shocking when one is young.

I do not recall any precautions a week after a biopsy. I took the approach that getting the bloody stuff out was a good idea but it was not red blood after a week or so but reddish brown junk in amazing amounts. I figured it was still healing so only once per day was plenty and then I would wait a couple of days to see if that made a difference which it did not. Mine went on 6-8 weeks but doctor said that is not abnormal.

Blood is nasty in that one drop in a toilet looks like your rear end exploded. I suspect it can take a long time to get the last traces out of the prostate and it looks worse than it is. The prostate does not get easily flushed out like the GI tract so it just takes time. No idea why some men get over it quicker, maybe 4 times per day? Ha Ha
