Another huge milestone yesterday, while taking my morning shower we pulled the cath out and had the Depends ready for the incontinence thing. To my complete surprise I have been fully continent from the moment the cath was out. Is this a fluke and I'll start leaking at some point?

I cut back some on my water intake yesterday and have had to urinate about once every 60-90 minutes but I am able to start and stop the flow. Needless to say we're over-the-top happy. Another first was sleeping in the bed last night instead of the chair. Had to get up four or five times which I expected.

I was also immediately continent after the catheter was removed. Seems like I am hearing more and more of this happening. I wonder if Uro's are doing something different. My uro said that when he did his fellowship on the DaVinci he was trained to pack ice into the wound area as he was doing surgery. He thought this kept swelling (and complications) down.

Guys might want to focus on training versus number of procedures when picking a surgeon.

Thanks fellows! So maybe this isn't a fluke after all. My surgeon has over 2k surgeries on the da Vinci and is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the UT School of Medicine so he's got experience and expertise going for him. He was able to spare some nerves so that has probably helped my continence.

Both times I had a cath I admit a day the first time after the saturation biopsy and 4 days after the TFT, I just deflated the balloon inside of me and it then fell out.

John , that's great that you continue to find yourself continent after only days.
I'm finding some continued improvement, the last two days. I found once or twice I I felt a squirt coming but was able to "kegeling away" before it actually happened. In fact yestrday I did squirt a bit, but only when I was on my 2 1/2 mile walk, and for the first time, I actually broke up the walking with some jogging.

Amazing to me that you guys (John and Ziggy) actually pulled the catheter out yourselves. i would be scared crapless

Glad to hear things are going well. I was one of the lucky ones as well with the incontinence, only time I would have a problem was when I sneezed or picked up my grandson, but otherwise things went smooth. Keep up the good work and the walking!
