Hey Jerry...My
CONGRATS on the numbers, too. The Lupron, IMO, was a necessary "evil" for treatment of stage 4 endometriosis. I had a series of injections prior to 3 surgeries total (long, sad story) followed by another series of Lupron. I was thrust into surgically induced menopause @ 33, along with the wild ride of the Lupron SEs. I was castrated (yes, I said it) in order to save my life. We do what we have to do, don't we?
I am 21 years down that long dirt road, steadily fighting what I believe to be residual endometriosis. The specialists say "no way without ovaries or HRT". YES, WAY. Either the lesions or the resulting adhesions are choking my bowels and bladder and spine into a slow death, it seems. I digress.
I posted simply to say a word of caution from your future after Lupron. Keep a watchful eye on your bone density. The Lupron fed upon my bones and I am suffering from severe osteoporosis/arthritis. My bone density is that of an 85 year old woman...not good @ 53. Again, we do what we have to do to survive. The concept of "thriving" eludes me.
OT...My cancer surgeon (Dr. Richard Boronow) retired several years ago. I am left wandering in the wilderness of ignorance of "female" doctors who will not touch me @ 21 years post radical surgery. I SO NEED a good specialist in endometriosis. Any suggestions that don't include the need for vast wealth and private jets? I can't afford the ATL and CAL guys.
