Eight year dx anniversary/Zero club membership renewed.

This week eight years ago I found out that I had prostate Cancer, and that I would have a date with the Robot in October of 2007. I was one of the very lucky ones, even with a prostate that was 65% full of cancer, it had not spread, and as my PSA test showed today, remains undetectable. My Doctor has moved to Washington State to set up a new program, and today was my first visit with my new Urologist. I have close friends who have not been as lucky, and are having to continue their fight. I pray that they will soon find a cure so everyone can join the Zero Club.

Like you, i was upgraded from a G6 to a G7 (3+4) after surgery, and like you i had clear margins, no ECE, etc. But my cancer was 5% of the prostate.
So being 5 months out, with undetectable PSA, and my 6 month test coming up sooner than i want, your post is a welcome piece of hope and encouragement. Thank you for posting.

Thanks everyone, Michael, I check this board almost every day, but as my surgery was almost eight years ago, I feel others are more current to give advice. My close business associate who works with me had the same surgery and Doctor a year after me, but has had a hard fight. We almost lost him, but were able to get him into the MDV3100 study, and dropped his PSA from 49 to undetectable for two years. Now he is having major problems with bone Mets, and will have radium 123 started tomorrow. His PSA jumped from 5 to 9 over two weeks, so they have begun running lots of scans and test this week.
