My dad has been on Zytiga for 3 years and his psa is now starting to rise. His psa has hovered around 1.5 to 1.9 but in the last 3 months it has increased to 2.5. The good news is that his cat scan and bone scan came back negative. His oncologist says everything is ok since the scans are clear. My question is, why is his psa rising? Any feedback would be appreciated. I just want to make sure we stay ahead of this.

It's rising because the cancer is becoming resistant to Zytiga. Unfortunately, it often becomes resistant to Xtandi too, but it may be worth a try anyway. Sometimes a cycle of Taxotere can restore sensitivity to both of those.

Thank you. I come here to this site to learn from all of you and admire the support you offer one another. I suppose we'll just watch his psa closely and see what his oncologist suggests next.

Welcome to HW forum. My husband had good results from zytiga but became resistant after about a year. Your Dad may be having to make some tx choices soon. It would be helpful to the other forum members to develop a signature with your Dad's stats and prior tx. I'm sure you will get a lot of support and suggestions from others. And yes, this is a wonderful place to come for education and props. I'm sure glad I found it.
