Something sort of interesting that I wasn't aware of. It seems that the American Urological Association, whose members are of course the urology physicians that we all have now or have had in the past, gives out annual awards to its highest-achieving members.
The awards range from outstanding contributions in various areas of urology, including awards in specific areas of practice, commitment to education, something called "expertise in urodynamics," lifetime achievement, and some others.
The award for "outstanding contributions as a clinician-scientist in prostate cancer" is called the "Gold Cystoscope Award." (Really!)Here's a picture of it:

of course, but, as noted, kind of interesting. I guess the guys getting these awards must really be the "best of the best" as PCa-specializing uro's go? Some of the winners in past years are names we indeed know: Tewari, Mulhall, Partin, Menon, Scardino, Catalona, Walsh, to mention only a few.
Of course opinions vary on the importance of awards. As comedian Woody Allen once remarked, "Awards, they're always giving out awards."
Still, those are some impressive names above of doctors who have received this award.
Sort of interesting.
