PSA after Radiation

Not overly happy this morning, had blood test for PSA after completing 37 radiation treatments, post treatment PSA was 1.17, this one was 1.98, Dr said recheck in three months, sometimes goes up before down.....

Post RT PSA can take a year or more to see results. It's a slow road. It is possible for PSA to go up slightly before finally going down.

Sadly, waiting and retesting is the road you're on for the next year.

My RO absolutely refuses to give anyone a PSA before 3 months for precisely this reason. Now you're going to worry about it for 3 months needlessly.

Hi Tall, yes, was really let down this morning, i really thought number would be good, all other tests MRI, CAT and Bone were neg.
Oh well wait for three months, trying not to worry much about it, in good health otherwise.....Thanks you guys.....

Happy TA weighed in. I've heard to wait 3 months until after radiation. I know it is the waiting game now.

Hopeful that it will be moving in right direction soon.
