One Year Anniversary

One year ago today I was under the knife having Davinci RALP.

I tell ya it's been a long year but I'm very happy with the results so far. In the beginning it's a very difficult hill to climb when you think about the Biopsy, follow-up testing, and then debating about treatment options. And during the first months after surgery it can be very difficult. But every day it got better. I have 3 straight < .01 readings and go for my next test in 2 weeks.

This board is a great asset to everyone going through the process. Information is so important. It is so helpful when you know what to expect and can get a quick answer when in need. This provides reassurance in times of doubt and knowledge in unknown situations.

My wife has been supportive and my doctor has been great. I did so much research beforehand and have listened to all of the stories. I am so lucky with the results and I am glad I put myself into the hands of Dr Perry at Northwestern hospital in Chicago. I pray that the results stick for the long term. I also pray for success to not only everyone on this board but to everyone everywhere with prostate cancer.

Good to hear, I'm not all that far behind you. I didn't write the date now, but I'm very close to a year since I got the call from my PCP, "your PSA is up for the 3rd year in a row, it's time for you to go see the Urologist."
