Hello all,

I am curious about Xofigo. I am looking for anyone that might have recently undergone Xofigo treatment and how it all went.

Gary had one tx, and some pretty severe SEs. Quincy just completed several rounds and had pretty good results. If you look back at some threads and find him, I think his email is open. He has posted recently, but it's been a week or so.
Most important with xofigo is having a bm within 24 hours, because unlike most drugs, it's excreted through bowel rather than urine.
Administration is pretty simple. Inject intravenous, and your done.

You have always been a friend on this forum, so I just wanted to let you know that I hope you are doing well. I know we have traveled some of the same pathways over time ...

You deserve some more replies to your inquiry, so I'm going to give your post a "bump" ---

It might be noted that the medication you are wondering about is actually spelled XOFIGO ... so you might want to revise the spelling in your original post's title, as it might attract some more replies ... I don't have any personal experience with Xofigo ... but I always follow your posts.

Hope this finds you doing well --- keep posting !

Brothers and sisters --- our brother CADguy needs some insight into his question about XOFIGO (Radium-223) --- let's hope some readers out there can help him out with his important question !

Thanks, I am doing well enough. I knew that Xofigo was spelled with an "X", I must have had a Firmagon moment!

I just got started with Zytiga with Prednisone, and I am doing very well on them. i am not having any side effects that I am aware of. I won't actually know if it is being effective until 4 weeks from now. I can say that I am feeling good and I am able to go on about my everyday activities. I am hoping that the combo of Provenge and Zytiga will prove to be an effective treatment, because my Onc. said that my PSA spiked up to a surprising 150.

My last scans show new bone mets in my ribs and in the top of my right femur. I did get a hold of Dr. Kwon's office in MN. They will be reviewing my case and getting back to me with an appointment soon, if everything goes OK.

My husband did three xofigo cycles, with no side effects at all. His PSA continued to rise throughout so he stopped to move on to taxotere.

We also saw Dr. Kwon at the beginning of the journey. Great doctor and bedside manner, and the mayo system/team is so darn impressive. We often comment that we wish we were still working with that integrated, fast-moving team approach (they're out of our insurance network, so we ended up elsewhere).
