First IGRT today

I had my first IGRT therapy today, one down 37 to go (70 Gy @ 1.8 Gy/day). Machine is a Varian Trilogy with RapidArc, the process took less than 5 minutes including alignment, actual time the machine was on was about 1 minute.

Every Monday I will see the radiation oncologist and nurse which is nice. The radiation technicians were great and even told my wife that she can sit in the control room and watch the process.

You're almost done. :)

I found my team did everything they could to make you feel at ease. It always seemed like getting into and out of the clinic took longer than the treatment.

I'm currently at MD Anderson waiting to see the RO and have my simulation before lunch. Anxious to see what my schedule will be. The shuttle bus ride from the nearby RV park (I'll be staying in our motorhome during the treatments) to the Mays Clinic during rush hour was a bit exciting, maybe that will be the worse part of the day.
