Hello Men,as you were.I just completed a 3t/MRI with and with out contrast yesterday evening.One technican a young women about 30-35 did the mri.They did not use an endocoil but they put an abdominal coil on my stomach groin area.It took about 45 min total.This test was done at St.Joes Hospital in Joliet,Il.But there was a 5-10 minuet delay while I was in the tube.The machine was not resetting for the contrast.More people came in and were checking the equipment.They fixed the issue whatever it was.Does the person doing the 3T/Mri need experience to run this machine?

Im 63,have a psa 3.0 in 2012 and a 5.7 2015. I had a PCA3 test done and that was a 36,above normal..The PCA3 was my idea. So my uro stopped watchful waiting and wants to do a Biopsy.He is from a big local uro group Advanced Urology in Joliet,Il.I found this site a few weeks ago and I feel blessed for having you guys here.I will meet with Dr.Andros on Nov.10,yes on my beloved Marine Corps Birthday to get the results of the Mri.Its been very stressful and have not even opened the can of worms yet.Geez.I have not had a biopsy yet as that what insurance company wants to order the MRI.I was willing to pay 3 to 5 K out of pocket to have this done.My Uros office calls me and says I can have the MRI for free if i let them do the fusion biopsy.The catch is I will be the first patient to have the fusion biopsy done by my Uro.It will be done at their Prostate Center complex.They will be using uro-Nav soft wear with this mobile unit with techs and the other Drs from the group in attendance.I will be sedated.My Uro has 20 years exp.I do not know yet how many biopsy he has done but Im shure plenty.I got a second opinion from the Univ.of Chicago medical center,head uro.He said take the freebe and the Uro should not damage me.Gees.Doc at Univ. says he recommends doing a 12 core along with the fusion guided just to get all data.I will keep you all in the loop.Thank You,SemperFi,john
