Penile Implant

Before I start, one thing I noticed about your signature: If you look back over your PSA reports you will probably see that they are reported as "<0.04" instead of "0.04". The less-than sign ("<") makes a difference. The number "0.04" is the limit your lab uses for the minimum value they report for a PSA. Your actual PSA is almost certainly lower than that. You might edit your profile to add the less-than signs so people will know your PSA is undetectable. And, congrats on that, by the way.

As for a penile implant, I have one. It's an AMS 700 CX inflatable. I like it well enough and am happy with it but my ED was a lot worse after my surgery than what you describe. Pills didn't work for me at all. I used injections for several years but they didn't work particularly well for me either. (They worked great as long as I was standing up but if I laid down so did Mr. Happy.)

My AMS 700 works for me. It gives me a fairly presentable erection (but not quite as good as before my surgery). My sensation is quite adequate and gets the job done. It is more-or-less what I expected although I wouldn't have minded it being a bit bigger. But it's way better than nothing and nothing is what I had before I got the implant.

I would absolutely recommend you get one provided you have tried the other less-drastic options first. There's no going back with an implant. It sounds like Cialis works fairly well for you except for the headache the next day. Is that right? Have you tried any of the other PDE5i drugs? Levitra might not give you the next-day headache and Sildenafil is less expensive. Also, have you tried "Cialis for Daily Use"? That would give you a constant dose which might also help with your next-day headaches. You could also talk to your urologist about injections. Lots of guys here on the forum use "trimix" which works well most of the time and is one of the least expensive ED treatments available.

about a week ago there was a thread started by halbert asking for members who had side effects from surgery to post...to help potential newcomers more fully understand the possible ramifications. You should add your story about looking into a penile implant in that thread. It may help another guy in the future...
