New to this site but thankful to find it. Seems like I've been fighting this alone. Uro seems to be only helping on medical side of things but there is no place to go for the Mental part you suffer.
I have tried all the oral ed out there use to use 25 mg Vi or 5 mg Le and worked great pre op. now full strength and it might get up there for oh lets say 2 min. then it's vacation time with the worst side effects.
Been using a pump and getting ok results but very uncomfortable strangling the woody.
I go in Tues for my 6 mo check up and have already alert
ed my Dr that I want to go to injections ( Trimix ) for awhile. If I go this route will it be life long or will I go back normal being I had a nerve sparring surgery. I've read where your nerves grow back but at a slow rate.
Thanks for a great site and making me feel not so alone in this

Welcome. Sorry you need to find us here. It has been a great resource for me, I hope it will be for you too.
Knowing more about
your diagnosis and treatments would be helpful. You can enter the information on your profile page, in the "signature box". The other more knowledgeable guys will find the info useful to provide feedback.
I had the DaVinci surgery a little more than a year ago and what you described is very similar to what I experienced. At about
6 months I would get maybe 5 minutes worth of a useable erection using any of the ED meds. I also got the lovely SE's for several hours after the fact, Viagra was the worst.
What seemed to work for me was being upright at that point. Standing or kneeling seemed to help with the blood flow, on my back was a no-go. I also saw SLOW but steady improvement between 6 and 9 months and now a little more than a year past surgery I'm good to go for the duration with 5mg daily Cialis. The daily dose has the fewest SE's for me.
I'm not a doctor but I think since you are responding to the ED meds I'd give it some more time. Frustrating for sure which doesn't help but hang in there, you never know what might come up.

Hey Racer, welcome to the forum.
I don't have much info for you as I am only 2 months out of surgery and I haven't even tried the sleeping giant (ok giant might be a bit of a stretch but a guy can dream can't he) yet. I was on hormones prior to surgery so I do not want to set myself up for disappointment, so when my testosterone rises and it feels right I will make the attempt. Having said that I have read plenty of posts here where it takes a lot of time for the ed to improve. Seems like plenty of guys continue to improve even after a year or so. I do recall reading some who used the injections and eventually weaned off of them completely. It seems like you have seen some results so I would think as long as you are seeing progress you are probably on a good path to a complete recovery.
Good luck..Jim

Thanks Racer. Happy to hear of your good outcome.
When you post something check the box above the submit button that normally says "Include Signature". Something goofy going on today because right now that box says "Missing key Value: en-US 241" At any rate check the box and your "signature" with your stats will show up at the end of the post.

Question for everyone. What exactly are the SEs with viagra you guys are talking about
? My doc has just started me on 60mg three times a week regiment. I just started on Friday. Haven't tried to have sex since I am only 15 days out since surgery.

Krg, common side effects with ED drugs are headaches, back pain, and seeing blue.

I am 18 month post surgery and had the same type of side effects that you had. I tried Viagra, but it didn't do anything. I used Trimix for about
7 months and then started getting erections with no meds; but not all of the time. My uro put me on a daily dose of Cialis of 5 mg in August, but now I only use it once a week. I too had the nerve sparing. It just takes time for the healing to be finished.
Best of luck.
