Glad it went okay and thanks for reporting back. I actually found myself worried for you and kept checking back here. Plus, who knows if I'll ever need one and I can see myself being freaked out while waiting.

How did they numb you?

Catheter back in. Dr recommends green light surgery.

not to discourage you, as each case/body is different. in my path, I had the green light surgery also, didn't even last one month before I was 100% scarred closed again. in my case, it was truly a chronic situation due to radiation damage after my surgery.

Just some gel stuff. It was quick and pretty much painless

Something I have never been able to get my head around is why you can be totally retentive, presumably due to a stricture completely blocking the urethra, and yet the Uro can pass a cystoscope and/or catheter right up into the bladder.

When I queried that with one of my Uro's, I got a half assed answer which implied the retention was due to sphincter nerve damage, but he didn't seem fully convinced himself.

Anyone any idea?

Well I had greenlight last Monday. Catheter taken out Thursday at home. Weak stream and dribble. Catheter back in Friday. Voiding blood and stringy things , perhaps clots? Anyways I follow up this Friday with my uro. They suggest that my prostate might have still been swollen from surgery. Does that sound correct?
Still voiding blood not as much as when I got recatherized. My little feller is probably in shock with so much traveling in and out of there. Sure would like some thoughts advice from fellow members. I've had AUR since beginning of April. One thing at least there was some voiding after surgery. Not much but something. Perhaps that's a good sign? Thanks for letting me ramble.

Cath out this morning. Voiding not good. Cath back in for two weeks. Had a stricture so doc had to do some magic with a wand that hurt like hell to get the cath back in. Ouch. I hope this greenlight works. Perhaps prostate is still swollen? Anyone have any ideas?
