6 months post brachy and all is great! Weaning off flomax.Wondering how that went for you?

I weaned myself off from twice a day Flomax to none and had no negative effects. In fact, the orthopnea (feeling dizzy with sudden changes in posture) disappeared which made exercising less problematic.

My brachytherapy had a pronounced benefit on my urination due to prostate shrinkage. I did not anticipate this benefit!

And how long did the weaning off take? You didn't just stop it cold turkey?

Hi Tall:

I tried stopping at the two month mark but felt a little difficulty going so went back on for another "insurance" month. Then I stopped cold turkey with no problem. I've heard others who wean off over a few weeks, i.e. go to every other day, every third day, etc. and then stop.

Hi Guys. I'm wondering if the sutuation is the same with HDR as LDR?

Something I didn't consider in my treatment plan.

What I am finding though is prior to Lupron, it seems my walnut wasn't having any effect on flow. Now that I've been on it for about 6 weeks, morning and evening it takes a little "wait" before starting, and there's usually another little wait to finish. Almost like going twice.

I tapered down to once a week and then said the heck with it and just stopped. That said, I'd say my overall flow is about 80% of what it was before treatment. Very livable, but not quite the same.

FWIW, I had HDR brachy, so the comparison might be like oranges to tangerines.

I went once a day for 2 days, every other day for 6 days, every 3 days for a week than off. Not very scientific but it worked for me.

Tm: Went for about 5 months at one per day and dropped to every other day for a few weeks. Than, one every now and than until I forgot to take them. Ejaculations got sooooooooo much better with more sauce and no more back fires. Let us know how it goes.
