I would be aggressive. Since MD has approved of the chemo, it sounds like that would be their direction as well. I would stay on schedule.

This is out of the hands of the urologist, now you need the best oncologist.

I did contact MDA and NIH about trials. NIH checked all his info and said nothing available at this time, and they would recommend taxotere as the next treatment. We were told to stay in touch and if his PSA rises to contact them. They were very helpful and said if we want to send them his records and scans, they would look at them. MDA's soonest appointment is the 6/28. We will go and see what they say, but we hate to put off chemo for that long. They said if he starts chemo and it fails, there may be a trial for him.

Has his testosterone level been checked? In some men, the Lupron is not 100% effective and the testosterone level never drops to "castrate level" so the "Hormone Therapy" is not as effective as it should be..In that case having an orchiectomy performed (which was once standard treatment before Lupron was discovered) will achieve the lowest possible "T" level for about half the price of a single 6 month Lupron shot....It's the most effective form of ADT...
