Hello JayMot,
Hang in there, brother ... I can tell from your post you are still adjusting to the diagnosis ... the life changes ... the thoughts, worries, and anxieties that go along with a new health diagnosis ...
You're working on things ... you are wrapping your mind around some new perspectives ... it's part of the process ... the brothers are right here for you ... we're right here, and we DO understand every thought and emotion you are experiencing.
We each have to find our own pathway through the labyrinth, but it IS comforting to know that others are here, traveling through the labyrinth with you, JayMot. There's no better understanding than that of a fellow "Battle Brother" ... and you've got the "Band of Brothers" right here.
With that being said, having been in the battle for three years, with some of my best friends now ALSO being diagnosed ...
I have adopted a saying that seems to help me and it also helps my friends in this, when they need a pep talk or a gentle "knock against the side of the head" from a brother who cares more than words can ever say ...
In all of this, JayMot ... we all acknowledge that cancer has now become a CHAPTER in our life's story ... so give it its full measure, as we all strive towards acceptance ... it's a chapter in your life story, as it is in my life story ...
But our challenge in all of this ... while a cancer diagnosis becomes a chapter in your life's story, don't ever let cancer become the TITLE of your BOOK OF LIFE ...
Words to think about ... a point to ponder ... a perspective to consider ...
Stay strong in the fight, stay strong in the battle, JayMot !
Handshake from across the miles,
