A question : Can ralp have an unitended side effect of giving someone chronic sciatica who has
never had an issue prior , is in great shape good core exercises and stretches everyday ? I know they move nerves back and forth . Ive alco developed spasms in my left thigh . And the pain and tightness is also prevalent in the left groin hamstring area . Chiros don't see anything wrong with my spine structurally
thanks

I would say yes it could. Not the actual operation but the positioning that you are in during the surgery could cause problems. The positioning of your body for robotic prostate surgery is, or at least it was, very radical.

Don't know...but a good exercise for relief...lie on the floor on your back...now put the leg on the side where the pain is and cross that leg over the other leg...ya know the way a man would cross his leg typically when sitting down...grab the foot and stretch it to towards your head and hold for 30seconds or so...repeat on other leg if afflicted there...do this as much as needed... it takes time..but sciatical is chronic....
A story... I as a young boy...I saw Alan Ladd in a movie cross is legs like a girl typically does... I asked my mom about
it as I thought only girls should do that... My mom looked at me and said..." only a real man could do that"...never forgot that...

Ever since surgery for a colon resection I have been having trouble sitting due to terrible pains in my Butt cheeks and sometimes anus. Doc's don't know what the cause. Did not have trouble after my RP. If I had to guess it was the table and this pad they put on my tail bone for protection... I think the pad did the opposite and dug into my nerves.

It's big surgery so anything is possible, but I've not heard of this before.
You might want to talk to an orthopedic surgeon or maybe a neurologist for an opinion on the possibilities.

I never had sciatic pain until after my salvage radiation which was two years after my prostate surgery. I can't say if they are related.

Long before I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I had sciatica twice. Each time, it went away by itself after a few weeks.
Hope that this will be true for the OP as well.
