It's been awhile since I have been on the forum. Had my RP in July 2015. Have had 3 PSA tests since, the most recent in July 2016. Results in all 3 cases have been <0.01.

about 3 weeks ago I developed lower back pain that has spread into my hip and groin. Pain only when walking or standing for some period. At first I didn't give it much thought as I have had lowere back pain in the past.

However after doing some internet research am now concerned it maybe PC metastasis. I am scheduled for my next PSA in mid January and am now wondering if I should try to get in earlier.

Just wanting some input. How likely is it that with undetectable PSA I could go to metastasis in less than 6 months?

Once you've had a cancer diagnosis every little ache and pain brings stress and cancer anxiety--been there. As stated chances are next to zero with your numbers and the fact of recent undetectables that your issue is related to pca. Don't let your mind ruin your holidays. I'm telling you this to remind myself of the same thing as I have my 5 year anniversary and PSA coming up in February. Merry Christmas!

Fell at work June had MRI of right hip. First diagnosis of the hip reported by work comp was degenertve but 5 month later found out that the pain is acetabular lumbar injury from the fall. Wor comp Dr. Feels surgery is not option due to age and stage 4 will get another MRI Thursday with and without. So far given drugs for pain management.

Vawolf - highly unlikely. Your PSA would probably rise considerably way before you had THAT much pain.

FWIW, i too am due in January for a 6 month PSA - 2 years post op I've had undetectables all along so far, knock wood. Last week, my lower back started to bother me, very stiff. I did think about what you are thinking about. I concluded there is no reason to worry, and if i concluded that, you should too, because i worry about nothing all the time. I used a heating pad one night and the pain was 90% gone.
