Probably true, but with increasing professional education and patient awareness I would hope that the percentage is trending upward. It just makes too much sense, for those cases where it is appropriate. Even if we see the uro as nothing but a money-generator, if he recommends AS, some of his patients will decide instead upon active treatment. Others will opt for AS, but then may be guided into treatment if their cases progress. The uro doesn't lose much, while the patient conceivably gains a lot in terms of years of better QOL.
