Hello Jannnett,
I'm thankful to hear that your father experienced a much lower PSA, as his chemotherapy treatments continued. As you know, chemotherapy treatments can be a powerful weapon in the battle against prostate cancer cells.
I finished up my chemotherapy treatments over two years ago. A few months later, to continue controlling the PSA levels, my oncologist recommended that I start on ZYTIGA, one of the newer breakthrough medications that is approved here in the United States.
Other friends of mine finished up their chemotherapy treatments, and then started on XTANDI, which is another breakthrough medication.
I have followed your posts on your father's treatments over time, and recall that you live in the country of India. I am also on the ZOLADEX shots that you mentioned in your posted message.
It would be wise to ask your father's doctor about medications such as XTANDI and ZYTIGA, looking ahead, just as our friend "Celebrate Life" also suggested on this thread. Each case is unique and your father's doctors would have to determine which types of treatments and medications would be best for your father's case, of course.
I have been on ZYTIGA now for 18 months, with very good results so far. Other friends of mine have been helped a great deal by XTANDI, following chemotherapy treatments.
I send to you my very best wishes, from across the miles, from the United States to India,
