Had my 4 month PSAt and PSAf done a couple of weeks ago and both have gone the wrong direction, from 4.2 t and 21%f last October to 4.8t and 19%f the end of March. Both urologist and PCP advocate continuing surveillance, with another PSA to be done in July.
Started Silodosin (Rapaflow) in February, due to issues urinating due to BPH; after dealing with that (and finally succumbing to the use of pads
), I must admit that surgery is looking pretty good
!
My question for everyone here (realizing we're all different) is: When/how do you decide to take that step? What numbers are the trigger point?
Also started attending a support group sponsored by the Salem Hospital; last meeting was the day before the blood draw.
Forgot to mention that I set up a second opinion at OHSU in Portland later this month. Should be interesting.
