Hello John..it would be very helpful to people reading your thread and posts if you would put together a short "signature" that outlines your diagnosis and your treatments so far..On the upper right of the page you will see a "my Profile" button. then "edit profile" then scroll down to signature and fill it in..
Proton treatment (at least as a primary treatment) has not proven itself worthwhile when treating prostate cancer..it seems it doesn't work any better than photon but it's much more expensive so insurance companies usually refuse to pay for it. Today, for treating a few mets, SBRT is usually used if it's deemed to be worthwhile...While the PET scan can spot mets in soft tissue, having a Bone Scan done also will light up any bone mets...PC seems to favor moving to the bones...
ADT, Hormone Therapy, comes with a heavy package of side effects that you should brace yourself for..
